Making a jet engine fan

Hello,

So i was at my friend's school and i saw this

20170609_214216.jpg20170609_214224.jpg

Yea... I decided to build the same vent.

I'm still new to Fusion 360 but i pretty much know my way around stuff

and can design simple models.

I have tried to build this and i wouldn't have a problem in make this if it was flat

Notice how the blades are elevated/slanted on the sharp right edges(as to suck in air) during operation ? I don't know how to do that

I tried doing a simple scrap of this and this is how it turned out

fan.PNGvent.PNG

Notice how mine is just simple, plain and flat ?? no creativity to it

Like as said, the drawing is not a problem but making the blade elevated is something i don't know how to do

I have tried using the conic curve but i used it wrong it just wasn't in tuned with the model

any help ??

This one is very basic, free hand if you like,

Cylinder hub, and a plane at angle, 45 degrees in this case,

2 d sketch for the blade shape, then Patched and thickened,

Circular pattern the blade.

Very quick and dirty conpared to the real world stuff, but will give you the basics....

Dave thanks a lot for the instruction.

and this design is freaking amazing.

I would definitely love to be able to design something just like this

I have opened your design using fusion and gone through each step

of your design, starting from the cylinder etc etc

But i guess would require to see someone actually designing

so i would know.

sorry for not replying earlier, summer school's pretty intense

No problems,

If you right click any timeline icon, and select edit feature, the dialogue box I used will be there with all the settings in place,

Cancel or Ok, when you find what you were looking for. Step up and down doing that and you will see was done a bit better.

If stuck let me know...
