Makesolid failed du to invalid input

Hello everyone,

I'm new on Fusion 360 and very enthusiastic about the mesh possibilities but it doesn't fit as I'd like to: I'm trying to rebuild a .stl file (just out of curiosity) with the "make closed mesh" command but I only get the error: "Makesolid failed du to invalid input". Does somebody know why (I attach the file to this message)?

2de question: How can I fix the second problem (2de file) witch is a non-manifold mesh?

Thanks a lot!

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 community! I just noticed that the mesh body is inside out (notice the color difference) so please try "reserve normal" command in the Mesh environment. I hope this helps!

Hi everyone !

I got a problem with an object that I imported at STL format.

I try to reverse the normal in the aim of having a closed mesh, but I can't selct the mesh...any idea ?

Thanks a lot !

It's clearly a bug. Selection picks only those faces which are directed toward our view. Which results in picking what's behind.

@Anonymous for now, try to rotate the view and keep selecting, it looks that selection keeps adding new faces:

You can also pick whole mesh from browser.

If you enable "Select through" in the selection filter settings you can window select all faces of the bunny at once.

I did enable Select Through, so that's not the case. Please watch the screencast, when I drew window I get only faces turned toward me, which in this example, where the right side is facing inward, I'm picking the one behind.

I would not have posted if I had not successfully tried.

Then it must be hardware related because I had ST enabled and I couldn't select all faces.
