Make Independent, Help?

Okay so I have a component that I Copy/Pasted however I'm now realizing that they're linked and that an edit to one will also effect the other, how do I unlink them? 

-  I looked for the 'Make Independent' button however it never shows up when I right click.

-  I tried the trick where you make a new (empty) component and just Paste New into that but its not working.  The component is so complex that it crashed my computer every time (I've tried 5 times).

Here's a pic, I want to edit each fan individually however they're linked so I can't.

1. Right-click on the original component in the browser, and click Copy.

2. Right-click on the new, empty component in the browser, and click Paste NEW.

Make Independent is only available in Direct Modeling mode. In Timeline mode, do as @chrisplyler says.
