Lost files AGAIN!

One reason I stopped using a competing piece of software a few years ago was because the program would randomly crash and lose all of my CAD/CAM work. Well, Fusion is apparently doing something similar.

This is the third time I have worked with Fusion creating a project over the course of days only to find it completely missing. The file itself exists, but all data is missing. This last missing file is a serious blow as I worked hard on the project. Now I'm wondering why I'm even using Fusion if this is a persistent problem.

1. Has anyone else had this problem?

2. Is there any way to save my work so that Fusion can't randomly delete it?

3. Is there any way to recover my lost work?

I'm seriously losing my motivation to continue down this road. So many problems plague this software...

i'm loosing files like this, but they dont appear in versioning.. extremely annoying.

im always online when i use fusion, but whenever i come back to my pc (having closed it) and opens fusion - it will almost always ask me to recover some files with dates that seem outdated, so i click no..

fusion 360 isnt trustworthy imo

Fusion saves the data in the cloud, which means on a Autodesk server. During the work, but at the latest when closing, the local data is transferred to the server. So you should wait long enough before you quit the program, until the data is uploaded. Otherwise the next time you get the message that the local data is newer than the data on the server.

Even in this case, no data is lost. Just use the newer data.

In general it does not harm to store the data manually from time to time.

I've had a similar problem with a project that I spent many many hours on.

All data files in the project are missing. There seems to be no record of any data files ever having been added. It's as if the project was just created fresh from scratch.

Yes, I manually saved the files many times. I have worked on this project intermittently since March; the project creation date is shown correctly, but it is completely empty both in Fusion 360 itself and on the Autodesk website. I didn't create an offline cache, mainly because I didn't realize I needed to in order to ensure my project wouldn't disappear randomly.

I'm uploading the crash log, but Fusion did not crash between now and when I last tried to use this project. Fusion 360 has a lot of nice features, but if I can't trust that my data will not be randomly deleted I'll just start looking for an alternative 3D modeling program. Nothing I can do about my hours of lost work, though.

This is exactly why I abandoned Fusion 360. I have only opened the program
once in the last year because the fear is real when you lose a huge
project.

It happened to me too. I had files in my folders on Autodesk server (left fusion panel) for long time and now few are missing or not complete.  Is it because of this forced by Autodesk upgrade to different type of account???

I have had this happen twice now.  If there is an update install it BEFORE you do any work.  I don't know what to say if you are working and an update comes through, perhaps your screwed, for a better word.  In 6? years that is the only time I have lost files, when I was working on a file and an update came through.  I have had many updates not cause a problem, but twice it bit me bad.

Post your logs that were requested and you may get your work back.

PS, unless RhinoCam has totally changed don't lose heart with Fusion, it is soooo much better.

****, I really need to pay attention to post dates!

Same thing just happened to me again with two different files. Auto save every 5 minutes is enabled, still both in fusion and in the AppData folder, all I have is the first save only. ****
