Looking for a way to convert facets to smooth curve after mesh conversion

I have a free license, so my conversion from mesh to body is limited to using the faceted method.

After I convert to solid body, I then delete facets on flat surfaces to clean up the body.

What I need is a way to somehow turn curved features such as holes into a surface instead of hundreds of facets.

In one case I drew a sketch of the curve on the top surface and then extruded the sketch to remove the cutout. Then I used to same sketch to extrude the cut. Sadly, the facets came back.

Using the above image, if I could convert the facets around the peg to a smooth surface I would be happy. I could then extrude to remove the fillet at the end of the peg.

In that case it might be easiest to re-design the object with the native tools in Fusion 360.

Can you share the model/.stl file ?

Take a look at the Blog Article and Video.  It works well on STL models that have sharp features.

I have already redesign the model using dimensions from the conversion. I am just trying to learn better ways.

In that case, “Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?”
