Is there a way to change the line width in the drawing environment. When I export in PDF, I have to alter the line thickness in a PDF editing program.

This takes a lot of time, the lines are way too thick and I am losing a lot of detail.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for posting in the community!

At this time, Fusion 360 drawing doesn't have user interface to change line thickness; however, if you would like to see this feature please feel free to add an idea in the Fusion 360 IdeaStation or vote up similar ideas like these below.

At this time I would export in DWG and change line width in DWG TrueView as mentioned in this thread.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks.

We had the meeting regarding our company future development, including switching to new design software. Unfortunately, without ability to generate industry standard documentation and drawings, this great software still considered as good attachment to CNC machines and nothing more.

Please pay attention to current industrial workflows. Drawings are still the essential part of them now, and the things are not going to change in the near future. Current Fusion 360 drawings is extremely limited and useless in industrial environment, which lead to guaranteed Fusion 360 failure as the main design platform for many industries.

Hi All,

We are beginning to work on some line width / line weight support in Drawings, so I wanted to follow up with this thread with the good news 🙂 If you would like to see more details, and be a part of providing early feedback, please see this post on the Feedback Hub.

Best,

Hi @Anonymous , we've improved line weights control in Drawings with yesterday's release. Check it out in the What's New Blog post and reach out to Fusion.Drawings@autodesk.com if you have any questions or feedback.

So as of 2020 is this functionality included? I see an option to change line thickness but after I select finish sketch it remains unchanged.

Thank you for the reply but even though it doesn’t change my line thickness. Also it changes the entire drawing thickness. I want to only change some particular drawing, is that possible? Sorry I’m new to fusion 360 and to this forum as well.

Hello,

You did a great job adding such necessary features to Fusion 360.

I hope, the line thickness control is just the first step in the implementation of full flexible line control. Most of the manufacturers still require full featured drawings on paper or in PDF format, but creating such drawing, simply, impossible without full line thickness control on each line category individually. Thickness of construction lines, hidden edges, dimensional lines and so on, have to be controlled independently.

Thank you.

Hello,

I see the option to change line weights, but it seems to only let me change everything or nothing. Is there a way to have tangency lines shown lighter than object lines ect. When tangency lines show as solid lines it makes them appear to be non-tangent. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi @mrichardsonXMND4 ,

We have improved the line width (weight) display controls over past releases.

There is new option available in Line width group option in document settings as 'Custom'. Check if this helps.
