Give me the place to stand, and I shall move the earth.
I’m trying to lift a cabinet. There is an arm connected to a pin with a revolute joint. The pin is rigidly connect to the cabinet. There is a floor which is grounded. There is a Cabinet is setting on top of the floor. Currently it is a Slider Joint.
When I “lift” the Caster Arm, it rotates about the Pin and the opposite end of the Caster Arm travels down. When it contacts the Floor, want the Cabinet to move upward.
You have the pin rigid to the cabinet, you want the moving arm to stop at the floor, and when you continue lifting the arm, the cabinet will start to lift, right?
I think you need slider joint for the arm lower edge and the floor, but could be wrong.
Your description of the problem is correct.
when I added a slider joint between the lever and the flow, the lever did not move.
I created a new contact set between the lever and the floor, but the lever continued to penetrate the floor. When I created a second body and created another contact set between the body and floor, I was unable to drag the body into the floor, as expected.
Try this one, Animate Cabinet slider joint,
Pin Slot joint from floor to arm, and delete the rigid joint Cabinet/pint, don't know why, but I got it to work here.
I could only open the design by downloading and then uploading. I though I could simply double click and it would open in fusion. PITA
Now, I've got the design opened. Nice surface on cabinet, thanks. I can't move the lever. I can drag it, but I can't operated it. I want to lift up on the right end of the lever, moving the left end down. When it contact the floor, it should move the cabinet up.
Thanks for you help.
Dang, it's sensitive. It seems to work, but it is hard to move the lever without moving the cabinet.
Thanks for the help
I've given you a link to the project online. So of course you have to go to it, download it, then upload it into your Fusion data panel.
I could have exported on my end, saved it on my hard drive, and then attached it to my post. In that case you could have just clicked on it and opened in Fusion directly. But of course that's more work on my end.
The only dragging motion I've found that seems to make it work smoothly is as follows:
