Fusion has many places to learn but I'm getting no where. The sites have older versions (I guess) because the screen looks different or all I see is a curser going 100mph clicking on things I cannot even see. That instructor is good but a not a good teacher. Some of the tutorials are very good like the lamps. However a few lessons down and they are into more advanced commands. I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO DRAW FIRST. Yes I do a lamp but I need more basic learning. For example I did not see how to select by drawing a box around the object and explaining the difference between a soild line or dashed. I know about selecting from past AutoCad, where to do I find lessons like that. I downloaded the PDF "onboard training" thinking this is what I need. The video's will not open for me, that's useless. Beginners class "start an empty design". Draw the two circles and connect with lines. Then modify the length with "sketch dimension". I get over constraint warning. OK I go to help and get no help. Where do I go to learn constraints.

Where do I go for ONE stop learning?

Sorry that you are having challenges with the learning tools in Fusion.  Can you help us understand what type of background you have in CAD and what you are trying to use Fusion 360 for so that we can find or create the right content for you.

On the onboarding content, when you say the video does not open are you referring to the onboarding videos in our youtube channel and the PDF (links below)?  Just trying to clarify what videos you are having trouble with.

Hello drawitdan,

I am sorry to hear that you are frustrated with the learning aspect of this program. If you could capture a screencast of your issues we can help you with understanding them or the options you have to best understand these.

Regards,

Don

Been there and know how you feel.  Fusion is a great program with less than great learning material, IMO.  The best first course I know of is https://www.myigetit.com/Library/Topics/69?name=Autodesk_Fusion_360.  It is what got me over the frustration hump.  This course doesn't cover surfaces or T-Splines.  It does a great job of explaining sketches and solids.

PRABAKARM,

Thank you for your fast reply. I hope I did not sound mad in my letter but I have been shot down in learning day after day, I'm so frustrated. The link you have below myhub is the one that I cannot play any video or open links such as ones on page 10. I have OS X 10.10.2 and the latest version of Adobe Flash. I downloaded the file twice. It opens and all the pictures and text are fine but when I go to launch a video it does nothing. Must be something on my end but I have no problems opening anything else.

I used Autocad 14 years ago, no 3d. I want to learn Fusion for 3D printing and CAM. I feel I should learn the basics in Fusion before I do all these other lessons. Sounds funny but I wish you had a learning video's made like the books for "Dummies" just basics to start off on.

Thank you for your time I appreciate it.

Dan

P.S.   When clicking on Reply to you a banner came across saying I accept this as a fix. I just clicked Reply.

Thanks for the reply it is much appreciated. I have not see this series of training looks good. I will try it. Fusion needs to have a series of training for the beginner something like the "Dummies" books. I know when Im learning something I start from the basic course (even if I know the subject) just to refresh my memory and if you know the lessons you can skip it or go thru it quickly. Again thanks for the reply.

We will look at why the videos are not playing but the you tube channel link I shared are basically the videos the link in the PDF will take you to.

Do you have a specific prroject in mind for which you would like to use Fusion for.  If so, we can look at providing help based on the project you want to work on.

Thanks,

Prabakar.

The Igetit lessons will give you a solid learning foundation to build upon.  I have not found anything that compares with it, it is flat out the best.  The last update I am aware of was about a year ago so it may be a little dated but still worth doing.  Before I found these lessons I was about to drop Fusion because I couldn't figure it out, at all.  After the lessons the program started to make sense.  My cad background was a simple wireframe cad/cam program that I had been using for 15 years so I was pretty much starting from scratch with learning Fusion.

Hi Guys,

Many of us are still learning and it is frustrating when it doesn't work. That however is the good thing about these

Forums. If you have a problem, post a message, attach the problem file and soon someone will help.

I have found that learning is easy with the right resources and the right person, but everyone is different and what

is good for one is not always good for others.

I taught myself AutoCAD before YouTube was popular. I went to https://www.mycadsite.com/ to start.

After an Adult Education Course with some technical Drawing and basic CAD, I got my teeth into it and started

drawing stuff to learn until I became comfortable with CAD in general. I still don't know it all but I can get through

and use the Forums for help.

I too struggled with Fusion when I started - it wasn't CAD, it was "different".

After posting here I was directed to @TheCADWhisperer and his excellent YouTube Site. Added to this I also

went through all of the Tutorials on the AutoDesk site in the Documentation and the free learning material.

Some of this stuff is simple and some is quite involved but it is all good.

The Secret to learning Fusion is to simply pick a Project and Draw. When you get stuck, post a question and your

file and wait for help. I started with simple stuff and as I learn more it becomes more complex. Do the Tutorials.

Pick something you like and Model it - I find stuff like steam engines have lots of mechanical parts that fit together

are good, but some people draw other machines, some draw aeroplanes and some draw hand tools. It doesn't

matter what you draw as long as you do it. The more you use the software the better you become.

Stick with it - its worth learning this software.

Cheers

Andrew
