Keeping components in place when making parameter change

I'm trying to keep some drawn in place parts with a slider joint to stay in place when a parametric change is made in relation to the size of the part that they are joined to. They don't want to move with the change. How do I keep them in place on the part when the parameters are changed and still use the slider joint?

Appreciate any help...thank's

Dave.

If you can share the design, and a screencast of what you see, it's more likely that someone will help you.  Most likely, it is the way the slider is defined, or the nature of the change.
