Joints on linked parts don't work (and partial work around)

Hello,
I just opened up one of my assemblies containing many linked parts and I found that one of the bodies in the linked parts had moved out of position for no obvious reason when the part updated in the assembly (I'd updated the part but nothing major, just the part name) .
The part/sub assembly looks like this, all the long threaded bar and nuts are joined to the body of the roller bearing unit:
After updating the components in my higher level assembly model it looked like this:
The four threaded rods and bolts are fixed in their correct location in the holes in the beam on the right (trust me this is where they are supposed to be, there is a joint fixing them in position here). However, the roller bearing unit isn't in the right place; it's moved left for some unknown reason and the joints in the linked part can't be working correctly as it's not in position (although the joint failure is not flagged up).
I found that right clicking the joint and selecting "animate joint" moves the joint back to where it should be:
Unfortunately, the rollers were fixed using a rigid group and didn't move back into position. As this is a rigid group I can't use the same trick of animating the joint. I guess I'll just have to remove the assembly and re-insert it into the model. Any ideas on how to stop this happening or to work around it much appreciated.
Best wishes
Jon
