Joint Geometry Failed Warning

PROBLEM #1
I have a component with sub-components. From a sketch, I am able to extrude/join to one of the components with no warnings.
After extruding/joining from the same sketch in the body of another component. One of the other components looses its relative position causing a warning message “Update of Joint Geometry Failed.”
I am not working with a parametric time-line. Is it simply a mater of joining the moved component again? Do I need to find and remove the old joint or edit it?
PROBLEM #2
While modifying the project I seem to have inadvertently moved the entire model 1 inch off the Z-axis. One component is grounded. The body joints seem OK until the above problem. Will this movement off centre be an issue?
