January update bugs (update database locked, favourite materials missing)

Hi,

I've had a couple of issues with the latest update...

My local copy of Fusion on Win7 is showing a notification on start-up that the "Update database is locked". It's complained every time I've started the app over the past few days. My current version reports as 2.0.2676.

I've also found that my favourited material list is now empty. I'm not clear whether this is related to this issue or not, but it is a problem because I've got several custom materials that I commonly use in my designs. It does seem that the materials come back with a design, so the data isn't lost, but it is frustrating to have to go hunting for them in other models just for the purpose of favouriting them again.

Are there any known bugs relating to these issues, or any workarounds?

I have run into this as well. Seems solved but a reboot, but time will tell. Do you by chance run F360 on more than one computer.

Fusion crashed on my note book last night, today Fusion's giving me the Database Locked error. Tried a reboot, after the reboot Fusion took about 5 minutes to start and I still have the error. Fusion was up to date and had started several times without any problem after the last update, the crash last night has obviously broken something.

Mark, do you run it on more than one machine. I had more issues when I had it opened on two machines

Yup. That's exactly the error that I see.

I do run Fusion on more than one computer but it was all fine until the crash last night. I might have solved my problem though, I switched Fusion to offline mode and closed Fusion then restarted and switched back to online and the error's gone. I've closed and started Fusion a few times and it starts within a minute again without the error.

Think I was on the fourth restart when I tried switching to offline, as soon as I selected offline the error went away. If I see the problem again I'll have to try both ways.

I have also seen this error, more noticeable when you have a text command window open at the bottom of the screen. I have ample reboots due to several crashes today and yesterday, and haven't really paid too much attention to this "lower level" error.... It does seem that post-most recent update, crash probability is significantly higher.

I'll take a look regarding the online/offline behavior when it happens again.

Hi,

The database locked error occurs when we are trying to access files/folders as part of a clean up process. 

To resolve it you can try clearing any remaining processes via task manager, restarting the computer, or waiting long enough (unknown how long as it is system- and environment-specific) for the process to complete.

I have seen this primarily on Windows systems and in some cases when Windows updates were installing or pending an install.
