Issue inserting an SVG file as reference

I have not had much luck importing SVG files to use as reference.   When I select Insert -> Insert SVG and browse to the file and select it, nothing happens.  I figure the issue has to do with the SVG file, but I've had this problem many times in the past and never resolved it.

I am attaching the SVG file.  Can anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong or confirm that the SVG is not importable?

Insert SVG requires a plane selection as well - to define the plane that the SVG will live on.  Have you selected a plane or planar face?  I'll try inserting your SVG now, and see what I get.

yes, that SVG works fine.  You do need to either select a plane, or already be in sketch mode for the command to complete

@crchisholm, as already pointed by @jeff_strater, this SVG is OK.

I just had to scale it down to about 10% of its size to be able to see the drawing.

I'm not sure if this will affect your work, but I also noted the outer profile is not closed.

I ran the Sketch Checker and it found the open points:
