Is This Shape Possible?

I found this design but cannot seem to figure out how to recreate this in fusion, I'm relatively new to fusion 360 and I'm having trouble getting the curved section to look right, is this the right place for posts like this? And any help? Thanks.

Image of the bench (was the only angle I could find);

Welcome to the community! You could make short work of that with 3D sketches and Sweeps. Here's a tutorial on 3D sketching: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CDcBN146EQ Here's one on Sweep and Loft: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TumjK7MO5SE

While I am sure this shape is possible in F360, I'm not really sure how to make it. Sweeps and 3D-sketches might work, but I found that very difficult. To be honest 3D-sketches in Fusion is kind of a PITA, it isn't well implemented.

Here's a couple more images of this bench from different angles, BTW:

Thanks for the tutorials, they have given me more insight into how the shape might be made, and thanks also for the other angles of that bench, makes it much easier to visualise now. I will keep playing with the sweeps and 3D sketches and see how far I get, if I have any breakthroughs I'll post back. But thanks for the help so far.

I think the answer for this one is probably to use Patch, then thicken the surface.

I made something like it here: http://a360.co/2D8dNMu

Here's a screencast explaining how to do it: http://autode.sk/2oX57Dy

I did think about using patch and thicken, but I didn't get it right. You came pretty close, but as you said in the screencast, it had some weird geometry at the edges. That might not be a problem though, depends a bit on the intended purpose of the model. Somehow I still have a feeling there might be even better ways of doing this, but nevertheless you provided some good info. 🙂

You would have to spend some time getting the splines geometrically correct and setting up the splines' tangency handles - which I didn't do - but here is an attempt using a rectangle swept along a path with a guide rail. It kinda deforms. I have not experimented with all the sweep settings.

Thanks for the screencast, it really helped on quite a lot of small shortcuts in just general making as well, i have managed to get this going which i think should be fine for the moment. The deformations should not pose much of a problem as i was just interested in the general shape and was seeing what i could implement it into, thanks again for all the help.

Yeah, i was playing round with the spline and sweep processes but could never seem to get the kinks out, i think it would require quite a lot of tweaking and messing with but could yield a decent result.
