Is there a Skeleton command in the works?

Hi,

I was thinking about how the Shell command works and its usefulness when it suddenly

occurred to me that a skeleton command would be equally useful for a number of applications.

The Shell command hollows out a shape. A skeleton command is the logical next step of

creating a frame of a shape.

Now I do realise that there might be some issues with some shapes being unsolvable

like a spherical object. This might be fixed by user defined edges.

On thinking further I realised that most of the coding for this skeleton command has

already been done because you can view shapes in Wireframe view.

So a Skeleton command is really a wireframe view with the "wire" could be user defined

"thickened" into a 3D frame. Sort of how the Pipe command works.

I think that this would be a useful command to have available. It would be very easy to

implement as most of the code already exists. Is it worth adding to the development

roadmap?

Cheers

Hi

Quick trick - I believe this can be done using a multiple shell.

Regarding the sphere, I have a hard time imagining how the allorithm would decide the number of meridians.
On the other hand, as you mentioned, it can be easily done via Pipe or Extrude.
