I'm trying to center a shape within another shape. I'm sure this is easy to do, however I just started using this program and can't figure out how to accomplish this. The larger rectangle is extruded if that matters. I'm completely new, so don't skip steps under the assumption I know something.

Convert the rectangular body to a component.

Create a new component.

Model your new shape in this component.

Use a joint to position this to the rectangular body component.  Default joint origins are located at the center of their faces.
