Is it possible to make objects move against to each other?

Hi - is it possible in Fusion 360 to put objects into motion so they push against each other? For example, if I have a box and a wedge shape, can i make the box move toward the wedge then have it automatically go up the side of the wedge when they encounter each other?

More specifically, I have the following shapes (attached) - a tab with a rounded bottom that travels along groove with a curved bottom. I the curvature of the groove should make the tab go up and down 'automatically' as it travels back and forth within the groove, assuming they both recognize each other as solid objects. Is this possible to do?

Sorry if I'm being unclear, happy to provide more info.

Thank you in advance!

Best,

Andrey

Hi @Anonymous,

It's possible to do this using Contact Sets.  See:  About Contact Sets.  However, this feature should be used with some caution, as its performance can be pretty bad with anything more than just simple objects.  The objects in your images will probably work OK with contacts, but if the model gets much larger, you will find some performance problems.

Unfortunately, Fusion does not have a good solution yet for the "Cam folllower" requirement, which is essentially what you need.  Sometimes you can simulate this using multiple joints and Motion Links (for instance if the curved face is circular, you can simulate this with a revolute joint linked to a slider joint), but that handles only a small percentage of cases.

If you can share your design here, someone will take a look at it.
