Interesting assembly glitch for linked component with patterned sub-components

I've come across an interesting glitch when applying a joint to a linked assembly that itself has a patterned assembly.

When a sub assembly is jointed (is that a verb?) in the top level assembly, components in the sub that are also jointed behave as expected , but the components that were patterned  float off in space.  The only operation performed on the sub when put into the top level assembly was to insert, position and apply a joint.

I've attached a composited screenshot of the sub alone and then in the top level assembly, and also shared model (https://a360.co/2H0NrzO)

I'm assuming I could just apply a rigid group operation to the sub assembly to solve this but figured I'd post to the forum so that ADSK and other forum readers can see it and comment.

Any other workarounds?

Your model is not downloadable, which makes this hard to evaluate.

Fixed, though amazingly you can't do this from either the Fusion app or the A360 app on the iPhone.

That's not a glitch and works as intended 😉

You patterned that second contact that is seen floating in your assembly. In Fusion 360 patterning components does not lock them down or join/assemble them. It really just puts geometry in space. In this case you can use an as-built rigid joint between the patterned part and the PCB, that'll take care of it.

Hi Trippy,

Interesting; not quite what I would have expected, but indeed, I can move the patterned component in the sub assembly.  Good call on the as built joint, employing rigid group constrains more than I want.

Thanks!
