I want to insert a design into an existing design, but I want to be able to toggle the visibility of sketches, planes, bodies, etc., without breaking the link. So far, I can't figure out how to do this, and I'm getting sick of going back into the first design to toggle visibility just to see or unsee something. It's disruptive, to say the least.

Am I missing something? What can I do to toggle visibility of inserted designs without breaking the link?

Nope! Unfortunately that is still the current state!

Yeah, after posting this I looked it up (I guess that's backwards!) and THAT'S DISAPPOINTING to say the least.

It seems like Fusion is perpetually one update away from being a totally usable application, but of course obvious problems like this are never included in the updates. Does Autodesk consider this a feature?

I have been begging for the ability to constrain to planes without projecting them first, but it has fallen on deaf ears. And then, when I decide to use Fusion instead of Solidworks for a project, I run into corkers like this.

You can change a lot of things if you either break the link (and that's fine if you don't need updates from the source) or you can use Insert -> Insert Derive to insert the design as an derived object. This comes with other flaws like that they only exists in the top level below the root.

Thanks! I'll check out Insert Derive.
