Insert image resolution

the *.jpg image is sharp ( also tried tif etc)

when I insert it , as a decal or canvas

the resolution degrades massively

how do I insert a 3,000 KB pic and keep it sharp ?

Can you share the picture that you are trying to work with? I will check it on my side.

Not sure if the .bmp format would be better.
