Improving Section Analysis

Section analysis should be the same fuctionality as "Extrude Cut".  It would be nice to be able to select what bodies can be sectioned in a view.

It would be nice to also be able to select which bodies are section when evaluating simulation results.

Below can be seen the fuctionality of the three section operations.

  • Extrude cut where the bodies can be activated or not for the operation
  • Next is the Section Analysis without the ability to activate/de-activate bodies
  • Last is the FEA Results analysis where selection of a body functionality is not available either

I don't know what that comment means.  Can you clarify, please?

@mmilleratticus You posted a question about "Fusion 360" in the "Fusion 360 Manage" forum. I complained to Autodesk numerous times on how confusing it is to have these named so similar when they are complete opposite products.

Thank you for the heads up!  I didn't even know there was a distinction.  Kind of embarrasing actually.  In my defence,  I was given the link from a support engineer to post my suggestion about sectioning limitations. I didn't pay attention once I clicked the link.

I'll sniff around when I have time.  But yeah, a more descriptive name would be a big step in the right direction.  "Poke Yoke" if you will.

I reckon it's empirical evidence "they" don't listen good ideas unless there is money behind making a change, eh?

How about a "Like" while you're here looking at it?  Gotta admit it's a decent idea.
