Impossible to create sphere in position

When I create a sphere it forces me to place the sphere in a new, blank sketch, which is useless because there is no way to reference the things I've already laid out in my sketches.  It only snaps to the blank sketch grid.

I already made a sketch and placed a point where I want the sphere, but it won't let me create a sphere on that point.  I don't understand how this is supposed to work.

Also if I click edit feature, there is no way to select a different initial point for the sphere.

Also I know I can move a sphere after creation using Point to point, but then this doesn't get updated if i alter any sketches parametrically.  Moves are not recorded parametrically.

I read the thread and I'm having the same problem...8 years after the original complaint.   In short, I made a sketch (on the face of a component) and added a rectangle to identify the four points where I needed to place spheres but the system only recognizes the 1st sphere location and thereafter the sketch is not selectable (while in the sphere placement mode).   My work-around is to make a sketch for each sphere.   The sketches don't need to have anything within but somehow that allows the snap to work.   Please advise.

Just draw a circle at each point of the rectangle.  Extend two sides of the rectangle to the circumferences of the circles:

Revolve each semicircle to create the spheres:

I do not see any issue creating a Primitive Sphere on a predefined sketch point.  Even if I never would use a Primitive, it seems you just are not holding your mouth right when you create one.  Video will show you how.

Well, does my video solve your placing of a Primitive Sphere issue?  This is not a work-around so you cannot say it does not work with standard commands.

It is probably because I use the "hated" Auto Project Edges on Reference option in Preferences.  A lot of users on the Forum preach against this setting but I love it.  When trying to select snap points, with this setting, is important to be looking normal to the sketch plane as you did.  Hope this does it for you.
