Importing/exporting an assembly

Hello, i have a few questions concerning importing and exporting in fusion 360.

So my design has imported assemblies in it. What i would like to do is export my total assembly, so that if i export it in fusion it is the same assembly but I would like to keep the joints (so that i can see a piece moving when moving and clicking with my mouse), so no .STEP format (i think).

There is no way i can  use the f3z format to export because i have imported pieces. What are my options ? (if they are any)

Thanks

So i tried to export via "fusion 360 hub" with the "fusion 360 archive" format, but i have a complex assembly so it takes ages to upload.. any ideas ?

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for posting. Designs with x-referenced/linked components do require you to export from the web browser to download an F3Z format copy of of the file. To work with the file in Fusion 360, you will need to wait for it to upload - this can take some time if you have a very large or complex file. Luckily the upload is a one time process.

The only other option here would be to right click all the x-referenced/linked components in the file and select "Break Link." This will allow you to work with the design as any other F3D file (export and open locally) that should maintain the joints in the assembly file.

With that said, it can also take some time to open very large or complex files locally, and their performance may suffer after breaking the links as all the computes will be done in the assembly file (rather than being spread across the referenced files).

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions.
