Imported image canvas scale

I did this a bunch of times already: Insert attached canvas. 

Since the April Release the proportions after import seam to be incorrect. If I import with x,y,z scalings all set to 1, the image is always compressed. I need to scale x by factor of (I assume, can't measure exactly) 1.7 to get the image correctly scaled. It maybe that Fusion does not recognize the orientation correctly. Photos shot with iPhone and a Nikon D70, portrait mode.

Nope, sorry I can't. But I can tell you it happens to any photo which was taken in portrait mode. Landscape ones are all good

This is happening to me as well. The image keeps being imported with Warped Dimensions along the x-Axis. I made sure that all of the scales were set to 1.

It's the Image that's inside the folder titled Fusion360 Datasets. The image is titled Handle Profile.JPG

I was able to fix the issue by changing the orientation of the photo in preview (mac), from portrait to landscape and then it imported correctly. 

The odd thing is that once I change the orientation, I can't replicate the issue by changing the orientation back to the way it was. The image seems to upload Fine, no matter what orientation the image is as long as you changed it once. Wierd. So it's not necessarily landscape or portrait mode that's causing the issue. 

FYI, this is happening with JPEgs on a Macbook Pro.

@Donelleree, thanks for writing such a thorough post and including all the detail.  I'm replying in hopes this thread will get some traction.  I have been dealing with this problem for over a year on my macbook pro as well, and it's concerning that it may not get fixed anytime soon.

I also happened to bump into this as I was attaching a picture shot from my iPhone. Actually deactivating "live photo" and reimporting solved it for me. Have you tried playing with that?

I've got the same issue with distorted images being imported from a portrait image taken with my iPhone 8plus.

Given all written here, it seems a clear byproduct of the.... features ....stacked on top of the image by Apple.   There were two clear methods for addressing the issue offered above.

I get similar problems when trying to import a canvas.  I have a scan of an image and its set to 200mm in photoshop saved as a jpeg,  upon import its only 10mm.  Why does it not import at the original size?  I have tried changing the file and fusion preferences to metric and standard with no help.  Then I tried every raster image file format known to man, jpeg, png, tif, psd, gif...... and still the same thing.   This is just crazy.  I find I have to do a sketch in adobe illustrator first and import it in as a .dxf  basically eliminating the need to use the sketch tools in fusion360.

Can you File>Export and then Attach here the *.f3d file that exhibits this behavior?

IMHO JPGs don't have a size in terms of cm etc. It's just a virtual thing if you are setting the pixels and the density (dpi) in relation. I would guess that Fusion 360 doesn't uses the dpi's because it's not relevant for a CAD system.
