How to stop hidden bodies from flickering when cursoring over them?

I am having wierd behaviors with some hidden objects.. The ghost representation of them keeps flickering on and off even though they are hidden. Its distracting and annoying and it also screws up my selections during assembly and I have to keep reselecting.

Any ideas? I am thinking it has something to do with the selection palette, but not sure.

You can set them to un-selectable. That'll stop it.

Any way to make that global?

Its not a workflow I would normally want to deal with.

NOI, because that would not make sense because you want to be able to select somtjing

I want them to be unselectable if hidden. Make more sense?

If i want them back I want to go through the tree and turn them on. Then, when they are unhidden, they are selectable.

Yes I understand that. But it just is not possible. the only thing you can do is to create selection sets of components that you can hide /unhide an set to unelectable/selectable.

Another meu item is isolate, which allows you to isolate a single item to work on.

Meh, can't do the isolate in this case since I am making an assembly, hence the constant flickering issue.

I went through and made the all unselectable. The unselectable toggle needs a hotkey similar to the visibility key. lots and lots of clicking... I will put in a request to allow a functionality to link visibility to selectability.

Its the CAD equivalent of putting stuff away and stubbing your toes on it when you try to walk past where it just was lol.

Got me wondering if there isn't a functionality buried somewhere that supresses highlighting when cursoring over hidden objects.. I get a funny feeling it may be in prefs or something. Meh, I will look around later, this works though so thanks for that!
