How to set a default radius for sketch fillets ?

Hello,

I wonder how the radius fillets are "chosen" by the software while we sketch ?
I noticed they are not always the same, depending on the dimensions of our sketches... But how Fusion 360 decide of their radius, and of course, how to set this ourselves as default value ?
Thank you very much,
Guy

There is no way to do that.

Hi,

Thanks for your answer Günter... I think it is a pity, but you know, we do with this ! 😉

I think this is always better than a preset value.

@g-andresen : a preset value can help when you want to use it, for any reason your own design needs it... Anyway to not be able to make the choice is a pity, IMHO.

BTW : Autodesk message asked me to mark an answer as a solution in this discussion, but hey, Autodesk folks, what to do when there is no solution and no solution to tell there is no solution ?

No worries, just 2 cts 😉

Cordially,
Guy

Adding on to this thread: Autodesk it would also be wonderful to be able to set a default for the type of radius chosen. I always use Curvature (G2) but it is always set to Tangent (G1). Yes, not a huge issue, but you have been so great at eliminating steps and improving efficiency. This is one I use frequently. Thank you for listening.

I agree that a user set default radius (or min/max) for fillets would be ideal.  I want to ensure radius does not go less than the radius of the cnc bit that I plan to use.

Try multi (window) select all the edges on a body, for consistent fillets, saves adding sketch fillets.

Might help.....

Hi Mr. Spsie,

If you want to establish a filleting strategy based on your specific hardware toolbox, do the following:

  1. Forget about the standard F360 sketch fillet command
  2. Build user parameter entries for required fillets (bits) diameters, e.g., FilletA, FilletB,...
  3. Draw respective fillets manually ... circle, tangent, trim.
  4. Apply the FilletX parameter to the circle diameter.
  5. Repeat as required ...

As a result you will be able to parametrize sketch-originating fillets in your design, with the likely possibility of changing them all at will.

Obviously, there are some pros&cons, ... so do some weighting of the solution in the context of your design practices.

Regards
