How to project hidden lines?

Google says to create a detailed view, but I'm not finding this with the Create menu. I tried while in sketch mode and when not in sketch mode.

the instructions you're referencing are for the drawing workspace, not the modeling workspace.  are you trying to create a technical drawing?

I'm modeling a table and I'm in sketch mode as I'm currently working on a sketch. I simply want to project a line without having to flip the table to do it. I already flipped the table to get my line, but for future reference how do I do it without flipping the model? Because there are times where there are hidden lines that can be accessed.

if you know about where the item to be projected is located, you can click and hold the left mouse button over it and a list of everything under mouse pointer will pop up.  select what you want from the list.
