How to modify an object into Stadium shape?

Hi

I've a design of a furniture foot that I need to change the overall shape. Looking down on it, it's shape is a circle with r=50mm.  The shape I'd like the whole assembly to become is called Stadium, I'd like r=50mm still, but add a=100mm length.

I'm very new at Fusion360 and I'm not sure how to go about this, pointers appropriated!

Many thoughts come to mind, but to give us a starting point of where your at, could you upload your file?

You could draw a sketch of the stadium by either making two circles and connecting them with a rectangle and then extrude the results or using lines and arcs to accomplish the same thing.

Alternatively and possibly easier is in the modeling workspace:

1. make a rectangle 

2. add a cylinder where the center of the cylinder is created along the center of one side of the rectangle and is the same height. Basically half of the cylinder will be inside the rectangle and half will be outside. The latter will give you the curve you want for your stadium. Select the join operation as part of creating the cylinder to make the cylinder and prior rectangle one body.

3. add another cylinder in the same manner on the opposite side.

Hi

Here is my design.  Looking down the throat, it is a circle, but I'd like it to be a stadium, not ellipse shape.  somehow I have to split the model and split the faces?  Then extrude to rejoin?

Sorry, very new at this and trying to build a part using my 3d printer.

Here is a screen cast of doing some of the modification you asked for.

You'll note I started by switching to capture history.  you can see why when  I resize the sketch.  Get to know how to use the time line and you'll love it.

For something this simple I would probably just redraw it from scratch.  (and line the table leg up with the Z axis in the process)
