@ryan.bales looks pretty buggy to me or at least needing explanation from the T-Spline team.

That looks pretty buggy to me and I don't have an explanation other than "that really ought to work." If anyone has a Fusion document that makes it easy to see this problem, that will help; barring that, we'll have to try and recreate the situation here from that screen shot (we may or may not succeed).

I have a similar problem on a higher grade. I try to match a 3d sketch. Namely, a high-heel shoe sole form with the edges of t-spline body. First there is no chain selection option in the menu for all the t-spline edges. Which really makes it hard to start all over again if it is not working, because the manual selection of 76 edges is annoying. Then the edges are thrown all over the place producing a form that could be modern art more than a shoe. Which is not really understandable as I have already put all edging points of the t-spline body already as close to the shape as I could. So if someone was fine with a "close" shape it would be done. But I need a match as precise and exact as possible to not run into slicing or shaping problems when merging bodies or cutting out elements. Any hints welcome.

(but if it does not even work in 2d ... )

Hi,

This match result looks bad as well. This is something we are currently interested in and would like to fix, and we could use more bad examples. Would you be willing to provide us with data that demonstrates the bad match? For testing, we need the exported f3d file, and it would need to include the T-Spline form in its PRE-MATCHED state, so that we can run the match ourselves. I would really like to check if our improvements will work on your example.

I will do my very best to provide you with the wanted data. Please be patient with me. ;o)

Is there a non-public way to get the base file to you?

Thank you for your help.

If I may add some wishes for the match and a comment:

1. It would be very handy, if the points, generated by the match, could be transferred along the line in means of shifting the starting point along the line - like with sketch plains on a string. Or like the repetition of items along a string.

Or define a starting point on the match-line. So that a shift of positions can be undone.

2. The point (that already can be shifted) should have numbers - so one can keep them apart and in row, when being in the need to shift them to get a regular wanted form.

3. In this case it is very necessary to be able to select a CHAIN of edges which in 3d sketch and 3d t-spline edges does not work at all.

And for the comment:

I really hoped for a tool, that matches T-Spline to sketch in a defined quality of precision. After that was not the case I have simply reached the same goal by the command "shift" and choosing the contact-body. Which was also a little tricky, because again I had to choose all the points at the edge manually (a "chain" check-box would be handy) but then it worked really finest! So in the end I know a tool now. It's shift not match. But I guess match is mightier and should also do it and be quite more precise. Maybe it could offer to remodel the t-splines to reach a certain precision.

Nevertheless - THANX 1 MIO for your efforts! And you can consider this as "done/solved" from my point of view.

Yes, you can send Adam the public link to the design from the data panel in a PM.

If you hover over his user name a pop-up window will provide a link to the PM feature.
