how to make a item in a pin slot turn from a point in the middle of a slot

i am trying to make a mechanism so when one joint is turned it causes other panels to turn and slide down. the only problem is that when i try to move where the origin of the slider is it is fine but it where it rotates from is the point where I had to select a joint because the point I want it at is undefined.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

i figured it out. what i needed to do was drive the joint to the desired place form a defined point.
