How to get motions and animations to work correcty. I need help please.

I have tried and tried to get this animation to work before posting here. I have attached a model of an air engine that I quickly drew up to try out and learn animations. On this particular design, the cylinder pivots about 10 degrees and the piston and connecting rod are fixed. I can get the cylinder to pivot, I can get the piston and connecting rod to slide in and out, I can get the crankshaft to turn, but I can't figure out how to connect the connecting rod to the crankshaft and get it to pivot. Is there a tutorial that can help me with this or can someone give me step by step instructions?

Also, once done with all the joints, how do you get all the joins to animate together. I can get the to animate one at a time but "animate model" doesn't animate the model.

Thank you for all your help.

Bill

@seth.madore This is probably more of a Design forum question.

Take a look at the Screencast to see the process of Animating your assembly.  You had a couple of Rigid Joints you need to get rid of or suppress and you needed one to join the connecting rod to the crankshaft.  I used a Cylindrical Joint because I was not sure of our accurate alignment of the components.  Right click on Rev5 and choose Animate Model.  Model is attached.
