How to fix this rotation when adding a joint/move

Hi All,

When creating a joint to move the my 4th axis, fixture, and subplate to my model, these components rotate. How do I implement the move/joint without the rotation? AND why is this happening? Im using the tare down pins here as my origin for the move. Ive tried both and rotate the objects.

IS there a way to implement a move/joint like this by selecting multiple points of origin?  I use Rhino 3D and it allows to move one object to another by selecting 1, 2 ,3 etc, reference points to then snap to the location I want to move to.  IS there anything like this in Fusion?

Thanks

Please attach your model.  Open in Fusion, select the File menu then Export and save to your hard drive.  Attach your model to a reply post.

I exported it and found out the file size is over the limit, it's 83MB.  I tried to zip it but since its a single file maybe it will not compress, ??  Can I get the model to you another way?

I sent you a private message with a proposed way of sending the file to me.

Hi John,  Thank you for the help on this.  Ive watched the video and see how you resolved the issue but I have a question.  I did not try anything yet because I was afraid I was going to mess up my CAM work which is complete at this point. Since this file contains all of my CAM setups, Op 1 is a standard stock setup, Op 2 has a fixture to hold the part, and Op 3 for 4th axis for indexing.

To do the 4th axis set up I programmed the CAM then I brought the 4th axis model/s into the original gun file. The gun part was the original file. In my mind, I wanted to move the 4th axis and other 4th axis components TO the gun model, not move the gun to the 4th axis stuff.

SO my question is, will moving the stuff as you have shown here have any effect on all my previously programmed CAM work? Dose the CAM work just populate itself to the new location if and when moved?  IF I wanted to move the 4th axis stuff to the gun body, is there anything

I chose to answer your original question because I knew the answer to the issue you were experience.  Your follow-up question is entirely different and I have no idea as to the answer.  This is a question for the Manufacturing Forum.

Please mark my answer as the solution to the original question.
