How to fill odd shaped gap?

Hello guys,
I am new to Fusion 360. And I was wondering how to fill in the space that I have circled? I figured it is a basic task, but I am having a little trouble.
thanks

The half sphere thing might work but I suspect would wear over time.  What a about a spring ball type catch?  another approach would be a slot on the lid side that the dowel slides in so you lift and then push in slightly which locks the lid open, then pull out and close.

Can you share the rest of the body with me, then I can play with the connection.
