How to download project files from the Cloud

I have really BAD internet service at the house (the downside of living out in the country).  So frequently I need to work off line.  However, how can I download my files that are stored in the Cloud to my local PC?

Thanks,

Doug Stump

You can go to your https://myhub.autodesk360.com find your project and export it or open your project in Fusion 360 then use File>Export.

Some info on working offline.

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How...

Hope that helps.

Hi @dougstumpJLVV3,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 Community!

As what @Anonymous said -  those are the two ways you are looking for! I just wanted to expand a bit more about offline mode as I think that is what you are probably looking for. With Fusion, whenever you save a file to the cloud, there is a locally cached version that gets saved automatically. You will notice if you toggle to offline mode, your working files should be there and available to edit. Then, once you get connected to the cloud, it will resync the files and update the versions in the cloud so you have a backup of your data. That link that John sent will have more information about working offline, but check out this blog post here as well!

Thanks,

How do you download all your files as one ? How can i download all files with 3 or 4 clicks? And if it could be downloaded as .f3d and .step files that would be helpful. The current approach is to download files one by one. I have over 100 files (about 70 folders) in one project, and apparently I'm supposed to download each separately? even if i download the folders this won't work.

Is there a solution now? I have the same problem.

No, there is not. Fusion is developed from the ground up as a cloud solution. While technically possible, of course, it is unlikely that such a download-all solution is developed.

This is exactly why im going to have to create a python script to do it for me. Sucks, but not my problem if servers get mad because im trying to download everything since im gonna have to move to another software. I can wwork from a NAS, but it is a true pain when i need all this bs plugin stuff to work properly, internet, to work properly, and if i forget to go into offline mode, i can't even use it when im not at a location or have internet when im flying. Pain. wish i could use it like i used to when i was 12. now I guess I'm gonna move to freeCAD. At least then i don't even have to worry about being unable to open anything i have without internet. Of course, ill just have to make sure to grab the files i need before i leave.

Actually, that reminds me. It used to be possible. But now you have to pay for the feature that allows you to download entier projects, etc. I remember logging into the website before you need two factor just to get on.

STL is I think the most common File type

.stl  would also be the very least desirable!!!

If .f3d or .f3z are not available, then the next best option is STEP.

There used to be actually, but they got rid of it.  The best we could do is write a python script that does it for us. And if it takes down a server or two, i couldn't care less. My files are being imprisoned, i have a right to save them.

Stl is going to be mesh, for 3D printing, or blender tye modeling, step files generally are great for modifying using different softwares, and f3d is exclusively fusion, so if you want to maintain your design history, f3d, migrate, step, and manufacture Stl
