How to create component parts properly

Hi

I am in the process of building this frame with mech that will extend from the frame holes.

I am not sure how to correctly do it. I have attached the file.

What I did was sketch a circle on the side plate and then extruded the circle and then chamfered it. But it appears to have joined the upright side of the frame.

I want this to be a separate item so that I can get it 3d printed.

Was the way I was doing it correct and is there a way to separate the item into a separate piece or component.

I had thought that I should create a component item in the menu and then create this part.

Kind Regards

Ian

Hi Ian,

try it this way.

Finally, you create a component from it.

Hi

Thank you for showing me how to separate the part from the frame. Atleast I know that that is the process to make the part.

My next question you inferred any way. It treats it as a body when it is created. I would then need to make it a component. How would I do that. Is this where I would make a new component in the Menu, name it and then drag the body into it making it the component?

Kind Regards

Ian
