how to copy with all the joints and limits

Hi

I'm trying to copy an object that has joints and limits on it. but when I copy it doesn't keep the joints.

I'm thinking I designed it wrong to begin with? I want to copy the tower to the points

Thanks

When you say "copy an object with all the joints on it" this means to copy at least 2 components, because you'll need at least 2 components to make a joint, unless you applied a joint between a component and a sketch with a joint origin on that sketch, but I guess that's not your case

So, if you have 2 component with a joint applied to them, before making the joint, create a new component and activate it , then insert the other 2 components that are going to be jointed together inside of it, then apply the joint

If you do so, you can copy the component that contains the other two with everything in it, including the joints

The copies became linked. Whatever I make one of them the others are affected by it. How can I broke this link?

After you have copied your component and you then want to add it into the assembly, choose Paste New instead of Paste to get an independent copy.

It is difficult to understand a video where the author speeds from one command to another.  It would be helpful if the author hovered for a couple of seconds over each command to make it easier for the observer to see what steps are being undertaken.
