Accessing multiple configurations in a SLDPRT file

Fusion 360 does a great job loading SLDPRT files with only one configuration, but I cannot figure out how to access both configurations of a two-configuration SLDPRT file. When I load a two-configuration file, I only see one configuration in Fusion. I found a forum post that suggests I can do it if the part is in a SLDASM assembly file, but customer gave me a SLDPRT file. Is there a way to split a SLDPRT file with configurations into multiple single-configuration SLDPRT files, without access to SolidWorks, either within Fusion or with a utility?

I doubt you'll get configurations to work because Fusion just grabs the solid model from the file it doesn't create it from the the history in the file. Even with an assembly file you'd need both versions in the assembly for it to work. Been a while since I've used a cad program with configurations so not sure how an assembly using a file with different configurations works, the assembly file doesn't contain any models and is no use without all the files used in the assembly so if you use pack and go do you get 2 or more versions of the file with configurations.
