How do you section a model temporarily to create a sketch - inventor F7 key

Sorry for making the reference to inventor. But lets say I have a plane in the middle of part and I want to create a sketch.

so in inventor I would invoke a new sketch, click the plane which is obscured by geometry and then hit F7 so I can see what I am drawing. 

 

How is this done in fusion? - can't figure it out.

Try the Project|Intersection command using a sketch on the plane.

Almost exactly the same as your outline, instead of F7, tick "Slice Sketch" in the sketch palette, 

to quickly populate the sketch, you can follow Ed's process, with selections for body or articles.
