Greetings

I'm trying to learn how to model different types of pokeballs. Some designs wrap around the whole top half.

I tried to do the extrude to object but most times it doesnt come out.

Is there a better way to model around a sphere?

[Edit] it wont upload my reference photo. My apologizes

Thanks!

I find it hard ot suggest better workflow based on that generic statement.

Can you attach models that "did not come out"  and maybe describe how that result deviated fro your expectations ?

Use the big camera button to embed images in posts. Link to screencasts and .f3d files.

Im not sure why it wasnt letting me attach photos but ill try again

Here is one that im trying to figure out and have tried the extrude to object but its hard to line it up as i believe the extrude to object cant go past the object extruding to. also the distance isnt the same all the way around. most noticeably in the font compared to the top of the sphere.

Im new to modeling to im not sure how to wrap things around the sphere. I know that sheet metal can unwrap but im not sure how to do that with a 4point curve.

Any help would be appriciated

Can you share one of your models (link to it from data panel) ? I can show you 2 techniques how to do this with the split face command in the surface tab.
