How do I create longitudinal grooves wrapped around a cylinder?

I'm new to Fusion and having trouble figuring this one out.


I need to add shallow V grooving longitudinally completely around a cylinder. A gentle nudge would be greatly appreciated.

 OK reread what you're after extrude cut a V then use circular array.

create two sketches

1 is the path around the cylinder

2 is the trangle for the "V" goove

 

Sweep the triangle

 

or 

 

skip the 1st sketch and use the revolve command; the triangle as your profile and the axis of the cylinder (may need to create a construction axis for this if the cylinder is off the main origin location)

EDIT:  rereading, Marks solution is the right one for longitude groove, mine is a groove lattitudinal to the cylinder.

Sorry about that.

 

Mark is on the right track with the first post, but I can't figure out how to incorporate that in my current model. 

 

The area highlighted in blue needs to have longitudinal v grooves along the long axis that wrap radially around just like your first post shows. It's grooved for gripping.

 Edit:  attached my model that essentially follows Marks workflow.  Hope this helps.

What I'd do is create a plane where you want the splines to start.

Draw the profile of the grove on that plane. Then extrude cut

Then make a cicular array, for pattern type select Faeture and select the extrusion from the time line. For axis select one of the other round parts set the number of copies then OK.

Just another tip on Circlar array, you can select more than one feature if you need to. You can make your splines look more realistic if you plend the end out as if thay where milled like this.
