How could I draw this

Hi,

I would like to re-create this vent.

I have already drawn this vent BUT.. it isn't curved on the sides like this one. Like I know how to draw this front edge curved ( side sketch, then i cut out the extruded part) but how do I curve the edges all around.

Don't mind if the current shape on me drawing isn't identical....

Use side Extrude or Sweep > Intersect, a circle that is centre on pivot pins.

Cant tell from just pictures.

Might help…..

Thank you i will try it tomorrow

edit: when i think about it it might not work. Since all edges around are curved.

Interesct would only round edges that touch correct?  ( meaning it wouldn't touch left side since its lower than right)?

The front view is a curved sort of rectangle. (spline)

Canvasses to trace - went with surface Loft for a one shot go at it.

Insufficient detail for the grille bars, and no known size, so sketches are undefined.

Might help...

Ahhh you used surface tools to get the shape. This will be my first time using them. I see from your file how you aligned the sketches to use loft. Pretty cool!

I have to admit your shape looks really close to the real one.

The real on the back side, top edge tapers to a nearly thin edge 0.5mm mm while the rest stays thick. I will play a bit with the settings!

Thank you really much for showing off the surface tools.

The bars are easy to draw.
