How can I parametrically increase the area of a projected shape

I need to parametrically increase the area of a projected shape and I can't figure out how to do it.  Below is an screenshot of the projected shape that needs the area increased. One of the parameters is `coverClearance` with a value of `0.00075` which is how much I want to increase the projected geometry boundary by. I have attached a video better explaining my issue. Thanks!

Thin Extrude, the current sketch outline, with cut side, outside the sketch, Extrude wall is set as clearance amount.

When done you have 2 green bodies, Remove the internal one.

Why are your projected lines not purple?

Might help....

Thanks @davebYYPCU!

I have never tried a Thin Extrude. I'm not sure how to, but I'll look around and try to figure it out.

The projected lines are not purple because I created the projection unlinked. Whenever I create a linked projection I cannot dimension it. I get an over constrained message and can only use driven dimensions. By breaking the link, Fusion lets me dimension projected sketches with parameters.

Extrude Dialogue Box - Top Line is 2 icons, use the right hand side one, and fill in the settings from top to bottom.

Then you have the cart before the horse.

Sketch the green outer case.  Sketch the inner object shape and fully constrain it.  Parameters work best with black sketch articles.

Make the Thin Extrude, and now you keep the internal block as a blue body.

Worked perfectly. Thank you @davebYYPCU!

@davebYYPCU
Thin extrude is a cool feature, unfortunately it does not help me dynamically increase the sketch area/extrude using parameters that that define the size of the inner case. If I change the drill bit or end mill diameter the inner case resizes accordingly.  I need to be able to apply the new external dimensions of the inner case that holds the end mill or drill bit to the sketch/extruded area that represents the interior of the cover that slides over the inner case.  Is there a way to add dimension parameters to a projected, unlinked sketch/extruded area? Thanks!

I need your data to understand that statement.

That the blue body is not driving the system, unlinked projections are first place to look.

Hi @davebYYPCU, I have attached my design so you can see the parameters and other data. In the updated video that I have attached to this post reply, I think I explain my problem a little better than I did in the first video. Thanks!

Just Project the bottom case with the Link intact.  Blue sketch articles don't play well with changing parameters.

If the Toolbit is the driver, make it first.

Demo Attached.

Thanks - updated the post, but maybe I am getting old....

Thanks @davebYYPCU, that worked! I repeated the geometry projection but kept the linking option enabled and I also did the thin extrude to be able to control lid clearance with parameters. And now I better understand the projection link option and how thin extrude works. Thanks again!
