How can I join two things (created at the same time/not imported)?

Hello.  I need your help.  My screencast shows the sort of thing I am trying to do.  I have created a wedge of thickened quadball, and I have created a cylinder, and I want to attached the cylinder to the wedge of quadball.

When I have tried to create the cylinder directly on the quadball, it ends up being on the origin (in the center of the quadball) and not on the quadball.

Is it possible to somehow get a cylinder on the side of the quadball?

I appreciate your help.

Hi @Anonymous

No screen-cast attached. But it seems you need to establish the plane on which you want the cylinder, create the cylinder and then move it into place on the Quadball and then along the cylinder axis slightly into the quad.

Regards

John

Thank you.  This sounds like what I need.  However, I am a beginner, so when I look at the options under "construct" I have no idea which to choose (I have tried several unsuccessfully) to make the plane.  I do not know why my screencast was not included.  I have included it here and below.

I appreciate your help.

Right-click on the object you want to move and select move. as shown in the animation.

Thank you.  However, I have no trouble moving objects.  What I cannot do is move an object to a specific place. In my screencast, I want to put the cylinder on the side of the quadball so that it is attached.  I can move the cylinder near to the spot, but how can I get it to attach - just move it INTO the quadball?

Thanks.

I think this will work.... I didn't need a plane; I just moved it and into the object a little!  Wow!  Thanks to everyone for comments!
