to align points on canvass with origin (or another point)...

I am using left/right up/down arrows when positioning canvass (highlighted in red):

but when I zoom down to see precisely where I want to move the canvass, the arrows are out of the visible screen 😞

"move canvas" arrows are fixed to some point on the canvas, instead of remaining conveniently visible in the middle of the screen...

bug? or am I doing something wrong??

Thanks for posting this question in the forum. I don't know of a way to change the pivot point for the move manipulator in the attached canvas feature. This would make a great addition in the Fusion 360 Ideastation.

For now as a work-around solution, it might be possible to get the results you're looking for by creating a component and attaching a canvas in that component. Now you may be able to use the Move (Component) command to position the canvas more accurately. In the move component command, you can use the set pivot command to change the location of the manipulator. You can also use a Point to Point move option.

I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Yes, it would make sense for a "pivot point" (didn't know it was called that...) to be positioned relative to the centre of the screen rather than the centre of canvas (in a manner similar to menu boxes that are/can be anchored in a certain screen position).

The work-around suggested is fine for a one off (but not if you need to do it frequently) - thank you for it.

It would also have the same problem though if you wanted to use movement arrows rather than precise values?

"Pivot point" in the move command has the same problems 😞 of dissaperaing from the screen

I hope that my suggestion will get adopted by Fusion team one day...

Just as an addendum - now that've slept it over I understand better what you were trying to say.

The critical difference between "move" command and "edit canvas" (apart from the fact that one applies to the component and another applies to canvas) is inability to set pivot postion when moving canvas??

My vote goes for this functionality to be improved to make "edit canvas" more useful, please.

You can add Ideas to the Fusion 360 Ideastation to request a feature. Let me know if you add this idea and I'll add my own vote to it!

Thanks,
