Horizontal dimension text for all dimensions on drawings

Thanks for the great added fuctionality of GD&T symbols on drawings!

Now there is only one other thing about the F360 drawings that drives me nuts...dimension text is aligned to the dimension. I would like to be able to set (or make default) all dimensions to be horizontal, regardless of arrow direction. Please add this so that I can make my drawings look more professional.

Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback on the GD&T symbols.

Regarding your horizontal dimension text request, at this stage you can't change the dimension text alignment. But, you may want to try using the ASME standard when creating your next new drawing instead of the ISO standard. By default, dimensions created within a drawing using the ASME standard will use horizontal text instead of aligned text. This is just one of the differences between the ASME and ISO standards.

To create a drawing using the ASME standard, make sure you select ASME as the Standand within the Create Drawing dialog.

And if this gives you the desired results, you can set ASME as your default Standard within Preferences unders General > Drawings. This will save you from having to select ASME everytime you create a new drawing.

Never realized that about ASME vs. ISO drawing standards. If that's the case, disregard my suggestion. Thanks for the tip.

@andrew.de.leon is there a way to do it if you've made the drawing before finding this out? To change standards on an existing drawing?

But sadly, this also changes the paper size format to american, with no way of overriding it 😞
