Hole tool NPT thread missing modeled option

Hi all,

I have a part that needs two 1/2"NPT threads, and it will be printed on an SLA printer. The thread tool has a "modeled" option which works, but I do not see a "modeled" option for the hole tool when "thread" is selected. I'm not using the thread tool because NPT is _still_ not available there.

The browser "modeled threads" option is enabled.

Thanks for any help!

i eneded up creating a another body on the panels with the threaded holes that have tapered hole and combining them to create a kind of npt thread.

I was mostly posting because I want auto desk to make it an option so I check a box instead of an additional hour plus of work. or having to hand tap a 3d print

I used a stock fitting drawing of a 1" npt from McMaster and it STILL doesn't output an effin taper on the thread. Garbage.

You can. They are there for holes.

I ended up getting it to work by modeling a simple tapered cylinder, using the thread tool path and defining the pitch and pitch diameter offset. It took more than enough fking around, but it did work. It was the external 1" npt, the part doesn't look great, in the sense that I can see it's going point to point rather than an arc so it shows in the light at the right angle, bit the parts seal like they're supposed to. Probably helps that the part is HDPE.

I tried hole mode but the option for NPT still did not show as one of the options. However I just checked again and it is showing now, i'm not sure if it was the location of the hole before or something else.

That explains why I assumed you must have been talking about the external npt because there is the internal npt LOL.

This is something that is sorely lacking. Still.

As far as I can see, it still doesn't work. Thread modeling is set to default and the NPT thread done in the hole command won't show in the stl file.

Thanks for the update, I was researching how to create NPT threads but now I see that Fusion 360 still cannot do it.

I did successfully do it by inserting a McMaster-Carr pipe fitting to make the thread. Very poor that they don’t fix it.

I think I noticed a new YouTube video recently about custom threading now built in to Fusion 360. I can't find it now, but did come across this fairly recent video that might help.

im seeing the option for NPT holes if you select 'taper tapped' and i can do everything id expect to do right up until i would select the 'modeled' option but it is missing.  surely this is what is being discussed here but i haven't seen a screen shot so i took one to share if this helps with the confusion.  im still working on a solution myself because it makes no sense to have the visual option and not the ability to model it or am i missing something?
