Help with cnc veneer cutting profile

Hi everyone,  I'm a first time poster so thanks in advance for any help you can give me. I wish to veneer a convex dome and will be the pieces on a flat vacuum bed on my CNC. My issue is that they have to fit the dome radius, but I need to cut them flat. I attach a pic of the fusion file which I hope demonstrates the issue. I just can't figure out how to do it. The dome is a 3 point arc, say 500mm diameter and 50mm height in the centre.

This will be pretty close in 36 Segments. I used an online template make to creat a 650mm Diameter (Your dimensions yielded a 650 Radius but the online generator maximum is 1000MM)

You could do it as a faceted sheet metal body I guess as well. Faceted for veneer should be within a glue line

Trace the edge with a curve / spline, for a proper job.

Unwrap in Meshmixer give the same outcome, also requires the edge traced.

Might help….

Thank you very much to you all!  I had no knowledge of Meshmixer and only minimal understanding of Fusion. I have now trialed the process in paper and I think it works well. My thanks once more and all the best for 2024!
