Help newb with tutorial problem

I'm a total newb with Fusion360 and am having problems with the second supplied tutorial - the one about creating the power switch for the lamp - see the first attachment.

The first part of the problem is that the product (just been updated) is at a later level than the tutorial making the steps and options confusingly different, so I'm not totally confident that I'm doing the right things. Several times I've had to retrace my steps (by using the undo button) and every now and again I get a popup saying "Some components have been moved" - see second attachment, which ocurred when trying to do steps 10/11 (assemble As-built joint). As far as I'm aware I haven't moved anything and I have no idea on the consequences of choosing either of the options: Continue or Revert and Continue.

I am a little time contrained and would like to help but don't want to have to look for the tutorial 😉

The tutorial I'm trying to use was found by clicking the Help button on the opening screen, then selecting Step-By-Step Tutorials as shown in the first attachment here. I then chose the Form topic shown in the 2nd attachment (not really knowing what it would do) which turned out to be the lamp base. I got through that one, despite it being slightly different to the product, and then was presented with the Power switch tutorial that I'm having problems with. The first page of which is shown in attachment 3.

Don't be discuraged by these warning messages. Clkick OK and proceed through tthe tutorial. There is always the Undo button if things turn out wrong 😉

It is possible tha the tutorial has been created with a previous rlease of F360 and some things may have changed. F360 develops very rapidly and it can be a chanllenge to keep these learing resources up-to-date and concurrent with thelatest changes in Fusion 360.

Hey lemelman

Some components have been moved > its just to warn you that the part place is off from the origin point related to the initial point where it was created. Nothing to really worry about. For instance if you have a parte grounded (it won’t move) so then when you add a new part, it sometime will be hidden/overlapped depending on origin point, moving the 2nd part in order to reach a specific point for assemble it, will give you this message ”Some components have been moved”

Choosing Continue will just work as normal from where you moved your part.
Choosing Revert and Continue will reset the moved part to the origin point.

Many thanks for your very helpful replies. I've now finished that particular tutorial and think I'm getting the hang of this amzingly powerfull program.

Is there a User Manual available? I like to read what the tools are supposed to do.

It sounds like you're working your way through the in-product tutorials, which is great.  I hope that they are helping you build your skills and become more familiar with the product!  

In addition to the tutorials, I wanted to point you to some learning material online on our Fusion 360 Learning Center.  This is more of the "user manual" for the product, although we do have some learning content there as well.  Please let me know if you need assistance in finding anythign specific.
