Hi
I think I have underhat the method for unfolding cylinder shapes but I seem to have problems with this variant curve:
I have made sure the top and bottom are straight plains but it seems an odd one to make a flange on.
I need to make it flat to I can create a dxf from it.
Any help would be appreciated.

you have to pull a planer face off it somewhere so you have a flange to unfold from . you can't do that from the edge you have b/c it's not vertical, so anything you pull off it isn't planer. easiest for me was to cut it in half with the origin plane and pull off that. this gives you half of it. removing the unfolding flange and mirroring it to create the whole part I'll leave to you-
