Help needed once again to unwrap an object????

Hi

If I did this everyday, I would remember how to do a unwrap or unfold of a piece of work.

I have this project that I need to get a flat pattern done so others can cut shapes out.

Except it doesnt seem to work either way:

I carnt convert it to metal nor unfold it.

Any help will be great.

To convert, the part must have constant thickness, and be part of a cylinder, or cone.

Lofted shapes are unavailable to Fusion.

Surface, Create > Offset, Set to zero, and save the surface as STL.

Go to Meshmixer and Unwrap the Stl, Export the Flat Pattern and it will Load into Fusion if you need to.

Hi

I created the offset as you mentioned at 0 and exported the stl.

I dropped it into meshmixer but it wont unwrap for some reason.

I read somewhere that I needed to do a analaysis and repair which I did first but still didnt unwrap?

Am I still doing something wrong or have I missed something?

Will you laser cut thin steel and simply flex it into the desired shape? I mean can it be conical?

Hi

The idea for this is to make a paper template to wrap around a dome on a prop to cut out grooves, so needs to be flat to then be made into a template to print.

I think your shape is close to Conical but not exact Here I have created a Tooling Cone and and used you Body to Combine Cut:

Then the lower section of my Cone can be used to create a reveres mask.

Which is Conical...That's as far I have gotten...CAD Whisperer (I think that's right)  has a YouTube Tutorial on the next step that I'll play with tonight.

Sorry, I forgot that upgrade, haven’t used it.

@ianhughes7UFVF only time I could not Unwrap, I had to remesh with more triangles, otherwise, ask in Meshmixer forum.
